For example: if you're coming in for anxiety, mention that you've always run cold, or that you used to get migraines. In Chinese medicine, we treat the whole person. All symptoms are relevant, even if they don't feel connected to why you're here.

You don't need to download any software. You can join from your computer, tablet, or phone. Good lighting is essential for proper diagnosis—we need to see you clearly. You don't need a ring light, but try to position yourself near a natural light source, like a window, if you can. That's the main thing.

You'll have completed your forms, so we begin with your chief complaint and a conversation about your patterns. This is where we learn your constitution. We'll ask you to show your tongue to the camera—this is one of our primary diagnostic tools in Chinese medicine. Don't scrape your tongue beforehand, and avoid dark-colored foods and beverages for a few hours before your appointment. Your tongue tells us what's happening beneath the surface.

We'll guide you to feel your own radial pulses—one at your wrist. This is both diagnostic for us and a grounding moment for you, a tangible way to connect with your own body. From there, we design your formula and discuss what to expect.

You'll receive a direct telehealth link in your appointment reminder and in your patient portal. Depending on your settings, the link will arrive via email or text message. You can log in up to 10 minutes early and wait in a virtual waiting room until your appointment start time.

Your appointment fee covers the consultation, assessment, and formula design. Herbal formulas are billed separately—typically $20–$35+ per 1–2 week supply, depending on the complexity of your blend. Shipping costs apply if you're not picking up in person.
